Mother! (2017) Review


Man, this was a movie that completely blew my mind but not in a good way and I am not even sure that it blew my mind in a bad way because I still don't know what movie or what type of movie this was. Clearly, it's a thought provoking piece of cinema and it looks and feels like a poetry but what was it's main theme? Creation? Motherhood? A women's role in a house? The importance of being kind with your fellow men? Resurrection? Rebirth? Protection Mother Nature? The movie has all these different themes that it tackles and because of that, you don't know which one is the main one. Maybe Divinity or something from the Bible? Adam and Eve perhaps? And if you think this movie is a horror movie, think twice or a couple more because this one ain't horror. I don't even know if the movie know what it is. It's so chaotic and confusing, with so many characters popping up with no explanation making the final act of the movie feel so out of place and extremely weird and illogical. And, to be honest, I laughed at a couple of scenes in this movie because it takes itself so serious that becomes amusing and ridiculous. Performances are OK, no problem there. Well, I don't even know if I can or can't recommend this movie for you to see or not to see but it's entirely up to you. I think this is what you get when you do a script over a week-end. 6/10

In the Mood for Love(O iubire imposibilă-2000)-Regia:Kar Wai Wong Comentariu:Filmul “In the Mood for Love” regizat de către Kar Wai Wong este un film frumos şi mai ales poetic. Ȋn ceea ce priveşte acţiunea nu este foarte ofertant, dar compensează în domeniul stărilor şi emoţiilor pe care acest film vrea să le suprindă. Filmul prezintă o anumită lentoare şi repetitivitate a scenelor, de la mişcările personajelor la curgerea timpului. Este o dramă neaşteptată, plină de-o emoţie şi-o culoare deosebită, iar puterea filmului vine din tensiunea acumulată pe parcurs stingându-se în scorbura unui copac, unde bărbatul îşi lasă toate amintirile. Cele două personaje nu au măsura timpului iar iubirea lor îi menţine într-o stare atemporală, vraja neputând fi ruptă decât prin prefacere sau negare, aceste lucruri ducând la o despărţire totală. Ȋn concluzie filmul merită văzut dar e nevoie de-o răbdare şi-o sensibilitate enormă pentru a te adapta acelui ritm şi a trece dincolo de coaja lucrur

Remembering Carrie Fisher (1956 - 2016)

Carrie Fisher Tribute Man, this year, 2016, continues to deliver us untimely deaths of celebrities and,  tuesday, we find out that Carrie Fisher has passed away. A very sad moment, especially for those who grow up with her and the Star Wars movies. Of course, her most memorable role was Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga but she was also a true activist, humanitarian and writer. This is just the worst and I can't believe she has left this world. It is a shocking news and I still can't believed it. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher, you will be missed.

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. On the contrary, it becomes more interesting. Love the cast, great cast and, of course, great performances
