Johnny English Strikes Again (2018) Review


Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Man, this month is kinda shaping up to be a busy one. Today, we say farewell to Britain's top spy in his latest and final mission and here are my thoughts about it. 

The series did not begin well, it kinda improved with the second and it ended, mostly, in a low note. Look, you can still have fun with this movie, it has some good scenes that, I will not lie, made me laugh very hard, one in particular that is just hilarious but, for the most part, the movie is filled with the same tired out humor like before, nothing new and nothing original, actually. It kinda borrows elements from the previous two movies, especially the first and, at one point, in some parts, it's basically the same movie. Also, the movie is cliched and predictable because it does not offer anything new, there are things that we have seen before and that takes out the surprise factor. Atkinson's comedic talent is still there but, with the humor being so dried out, it almost doesn't matter. It does have some good things, like the interaction between English and the new technology and those scenes make for some good laughs and some good fun. 

Overall, being the last movie in this series, I expected something more but, like I said, the movie is good for a few chuckles. Still consider the second one the best of the three, which, frankly, is not saying much about this franchise that clearly wanted to bring back the magic of the Austin Powers series. For the most part, they've failed. 6.3/10

In the Mood for Love(O iubire imposibilă-2000)-Regia:Kar Wai Wong Comentariu:Filmul “In the Mood for Love” regizat de către Kar Wai Wong este un film frumos şi mai ales poetic. Ȋn ceea ce priveşte acţiunea nu este foarte ofertant, dar compensează în domeniul stărilor şi emoţiilor pe care acest film vrea să le suprindă. Filmul prezintă o anumită lentoare şi repetitivitate a scenelor, de la mişcările personajelor la curgerea timpului. Este o dramă neaşteptată, plină de-o emoţie şi-o culoare deosebită, iar puterea filmului vine din tensiunea acumulată pe parcurs stingându-se în scorbura unui copac, unde bărbatul îşi lasă toate amintirile. Cele două personaje nu au măsura timpului iar iubirea lor îi menţine într-o stare atemporală, vraja neputând fi ruptă decât prin prefacere sau negare, aceste lucruri ducând la o despărţire totală. Ȋn concluzie filmul merită văzut dar e nevoie de-o răbdare şi-o sensibilitate enormă pentru a te adapta acelui ritm şi a trece dincolo de coaja lucrur

Remembering Carrie Fisher (1956 - 2016)

Carrie Fisher Tribute Man, this year, 2016, continues to deliver us untimely deaths of celebrities and,  tuesday, we find out that Carrie Fisher has passed away. A very sad moment, especially for those who grow up with her and the Star Wars movies. Of course, her most memorable role was Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga but she was also a true activist, humanitarian and writer. This is just the worst and I can't believe she has left this world. It is a shocking news and I still can't believed it. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher, you will be missed.

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. On the contrary, it becomes more interesting. Love the cast, great cast and, of course, great performances
