Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) Review


Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Reviews! Today is the 4th "Pirates" movie. You remembered how I said that the second one was not the worst, right? Well this one is. It's much shorter and less exhausting than the previous installments, I give them that. But it falls flat in every other department. The plot is disjointed and full of inconsistencies, the action is loud and kinda disappointing, the humor is campy and silly, even stupid at times and the performances are more forced than impeccable. Again, we are introduced to new characters and again, no exposition or even a hint of a backstory. Penelope Cruz's characters is not even mentioned in the first three movies. And the romantic story is useless, pointless and forced. Not to mention that only three characters from the previous movies are present here. Some of the action, although unsatisfied, like I said, is, in some parts, mainly entertaining. The effects are nice and the CGI is good. Unfortunately, having more flaws than good things, this entry runs adrift, pun intended. 6.5/10

OK guys, this is my review for today. Next stop is "Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar's Revenge" because why not have two titles for your movie. Until then, take care and keep on reviewing!

So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. Mission Impossible 3 (2006) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this is what I am talking about, if you want to make a great action movie but still keep the style and panache of the original. J.J. Abrams did it. He combined, successfully I might add, the stunts and special effects with the style that made the first MI so good. It does suffer in some departments, especially the script and character development but that is just nitpicking at this point. The visual effects are awesome, the action is great and fast paced giving you the right amount of time to breathe before it chuckles you again into the action. The acting is top notch with a very good villainy performance from P.S. Hoffman.
