Prometheus (2012) Review


Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Reviews! Today, I'm reviewing the "Alien" prequel that is "Prometheus". So, this movie had split opinions within the movie critics. I liked the movie but it kinda disappointed with the story. First, the good things. The movie looks incredible, it has stunning visuals and excellent camera work, a haunting and beautiful musical score and some very good performances, especially Michael Fassbender as the android. The suspense and tension of the "Alien" movies is present plus it has, also, the horror element. We get some nods to the original movie but not enough to tie in to the lore of the first movie. And that is the drawback of this movie. It raises so many questions but it answers almost none of them. We don't get the explanations that we hoped we would. The script is nonsensical, the story sufferers from the underdevelopment of the characters and the main plot. The movie is a visual wonder but with less of an impact on other elements. 7.1/10

OK guys, that is my review for today. This week I am going to participate at the SFR 2017 movie festival and I'm not going to do any reviews besides the "Alien Covenant" review that will be posted on Sunday, I hope. Until then, take care and keep on reviewing!

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. So, just to be clear, this is not the ''A Star Is Born'' review as I promised and it is unlikely that I will still make that review. Mission Impossible 3 (2006) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this is what I am talking about, if you want to make a great action movie but still keep the style and panache of the original. J.J. Abrams did it. He combined, successfully I might add, the stunts and special effects with the style that made the first MI so good. It does suffer in some departments, especially the script and character development but that is just nitpicking at this point. The visual effects are awesome, the action is great and fast paced giving you the right amount of time to breathe before it chuckles you again into the action. The acting is top notch with a very good villainy performance from P.S. Hoffman.
