The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) Movie Review

Imagine
The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) Review Well, another movie from the Lego franchise. I enjoyed very much "The Lego Movie" and "The Lego Batman Movie" as well but this one is not as good as the first two but it's still fun, it has some good jokes and gags but not all of them stick, it has some good action scenes and a very nice story but, sadly, it's something I have seen before in other movie, with the estranged father and son but I liked how they choose to approach this story here. Also, I don't know nothing about this Ninjago series but it reminded me very much of "Power Rangers" with the costumes, secret identities, big giant robots and their code names and colors and they all are high school students. And you can see some "Kung Fu Panda" influence as well. Like I said, not as good as the first two but you can still have fun with it. 6.2/10 OK guys, those are the reviews for today. Next up, something. Until then, take care an

Coco (2017) Movie Review

Coco (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! So, I am here to give my thoughts about the latest Pixar animation and let me tell you, it was incredible what they achieved with this movie. It's simply stunning visually, with rich colors and a sense of real to all the animation plus the details are unbelievable. Plus the entire story and narrative has a very family-friendly feel and that is no mistake because the main theme of this is about family. The music plays an important part also, showing you how music can tear up and then bring back a family and it's beliefs. Also, we learn a bit about culture as well, about life and death. And the movie is very emotional, mainly at the end and it's deeply affecting but there is also some good and nice humor sprinkled throughout that takes a bit out the emotional feel. Although it's a bit predictable, mainly towards the end, it's still a visual treat, with some incredible music and a great stor

Darkest Hour (2017) Movie Review

Imagine
Darkest Hour (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this was an incredible movie with an equally incredible performance from Gary Oldman as Churchill. I mean, Oldman and Churchill is brought back to life in this movie and not by only the sheer passion, grit and emotion that Oldman exhibits in his performance but also from the very talented make-up crew. As far as the movie goes, if you liked Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" you will enjoy this one as well because, in the first you saw first hand "Operation Dynamo" taking place but in this one you will see how it all was put together to save all of those soldiers. Although the narrative falters in some aspects of the film, the performances and the talent in film making of Joe Wright will surely keep you invested. And, although the movie is almost two hours long it feels shorter because you don't stop to look at your watch, the movie is not boring and it has every ingredie

The Post (2017) Movie Review

The Post (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Today I am going to talk about and give my overall thoughts on the new historical drama directed by the one and only Steven Spielberg and starring Meryl Streep and my boy, Tom Hanks. What I liked about this movie is how Spielberg decided to portray this important moment in American history and succeed in doing so, in the most part. In some other parts, the movie reminds you of a better, in my opinion, constructed, from a story view, piece and that is "Spotlight". But hey, that's just me. I am not saying that this movie is copying "Spotlight" or that is a bad movie which isn't but it's not a great movie. I like the period time from which this event is presented and Spielberg is in his element here, taking you back with great camera shots, excellent film making and a compelling story. There is suspense, the atmosphere is thrilling and engaging and it will keep you at the edg

Black Panther (2018) Movie Review

Imagine
Black Panther (2018) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! So, I just got done seeing the most recent MCU movie and it was awesome, with a minor flaw. What we have here is, basically, the James Bond of the MCU because of all the cool technology that is used in this movie. I also felt a "Lion King" vibe in the some parts of the movie, especially at the beginning. The special effects look incredible and the visuals are stunning making it a movie that is very nice to look at. Plus the costumes are incredible, embodying that African style and feel. The action is not that much but it's there when it counts and the story is very compelling with a very important and strong political message, kinda let "Get Out" had. We have a very strong villain that you can relate to and understand his motives and Michael B. Jordan does an outstanding performance conveying all those emotions. This movie may not have very famous actors but it has some very

The Disaster Artist (2017) Movie Review

Imagine
The Disaster Artist (2017) Review So, if "The Room" did not exist this movie could not have happened because this movie was excellent, great, well directed and well acted. It is funny and tells the story about Tommy and his dream of becoming a movie star or a star of any kind. And let me tell you, I knew James Franco was a good actor but man, he disappears in this movie and you see Tommy Wiseau again. I very much enjoyed this backstage look at how this crazy and weird movie was made and this inside look into Tommy's life. The movie is very at point and touches the creativity part with delicacy and fines plus some very good humor and charm. Also, a shout out to Dave Franco, who is starting to become a very good actor. And I loved at the end how they the scenes from the real movie with those from this one, a very nice touch. Great movie! You should see this and you don't need to see "The Room" first but it helps with understanding this one. 8.5/10 OK

The Room (2003) Movie Review

Imagine
The Room (2003) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! So, as promised I have the review, my review, for the best worst movie ever made which it became a cult classic, made a lot of money thru the years and thousands of followers. Also, it made Tommy Wiseau famous but I don't think that this type of fame he had in mind. Let's talks about the movie which, granted, is as bad illogical as you'd expect but, the thing is that you can have really have fun with this movie although it's considered a drama. You can forget about directing, acting, producing, writing and almost that involves the making of a good movie because there is nothing of that in this. All of what I said above it's completely irrelevant and useless in this movie. The directing is awful, with a story that is very simple but also very convoluted in it's simplicity; the acting is very bad, especially from it's star, Tommy Wiseau, that offers no emotion or offers to much

Murder on the Orient Express (2017) Movie Review

Imagine
Murder on the Orient Express (2017) Review Well, guys, here is a review that I din not plan on doing. Granted, I have seen the other two movie versions of this story, the 1974 version with Albert Finney, which I liked but I though that Finney was a bit miss cast and the episode with David Suchet, which is my favorite amongst these three. This one though does not reach the build up or the conclusion in the terms that the other two did. What I can tell you good about this movie are the cast, which is incredible, one of the best ensemble cast I have ever seen in a movie and the visuals plus the aesthetic of the whole thing. It is visually stunning, with some great imagery, style and color. Plus the costumes are great and the humor that made Hercule Poirot the character that he is it is present, which is great. Kenneth Branagh as the famous Belgian detective is good but I am not sure about that moustache. Maybe digitally erase it, like they did with Henry Cavill's in "Justice

Fifty Shades Freed (2018) Movie Review

Imagine
Fifty Shades Freed (2018) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! So, we reached the peak of this "award winning" franchise and, I got to tell you, that whole tagline with "Don't Miss The Climax" is complete and utter bullshit. It's a fucking stupid conclusion that this movie reaches, that's what the tagline should have been. What I can say is that this movie is a good comedy. I mean, the author of the freaking books wrote this screenplay and it sucks so, if I understand correctly, the books suck as well. So, like I said, the script sucks, the lines and dialogue are laughably bad and hilarious, which is a bad thing because I don't think they intended that. The chemistry is a bit improved in this one, I can give them that and Dornan is not as stiff, no pun intended here, as in the first two movies but it's not enough to save this movie which I think is way longer that it should be. There are some two or three scenes that

Fifty Shades Darker (2017) Movie Review

Imagine
Fifty Shades Darker (2017) Review Well, I did not think that it was possible to hate the second one more than the first one but, no surprise there, I did. Because the trailer for the movie was good, giving it a psychological thriller vibe with some tension and suspense but we did not get that in this movie. Instead we got the same thing. Stupid dialogue, very bad writing, chemistry lacking again between the two leads plus some awful performances. The number of sex scenes is a little higher than the first, which I can give them credit for that but the sexiness is still missing from these scenes. Maybe because the chemistry between Johnson and Dornan is missing the sexy part of those scenes are missing.  Some new characters appear but they do little for the story and they are there only to build up the hype for the sequel. The movie tries so hard to be sexy and, ultimately, it falls flat, leaving you unsatisfied. But again, the movie is funny. Maybe they tried to make a comedy disgu

Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) Movie Review

Imagine
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) Review Welcome back guys and this time for a review. Well, two actually and this is the first one and no, I did not saw this movie just now. I saw it when it came out, both of them unfortunately but, because the third one is coming out, no pun intended here, I've decided to give you my overall thoughts of the first two. And, because this is a family friendly site or blog or whatever you wanna call it, I will keep the comments PG-13, like the movie is because this movie is total garbage but a little less garbage then the book but it's still garbage. Man, what am I talking about, this movie is awful! Extremely bad writing, laughable dialogue and some very stupid lines, situations, events and character choices that simply don't make sense in the real world. The chemistry between the two leads is nowhere to be found, the scenes between seem so forced and awkward. Dakota Johnson is a good actress but here she has nothing to work with and, apparen

BEST AND WORST OF THE MONTH

Best and Worst of January 2018 Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor and, also, for the first Best and Worst of the year. January was fairly good, with some nice movies but, also, some very bad ones and one and two disappointments that had the potential to be great. So let's start with the worst beginning with Netflix's "Bright", following up is the first disappointment for me and that is "Insidious: The Last Key", coming up is "The House" and, taking the "prize" for the worst is "The Snowman". Now, let's get to the good stuff with "Wind River", following up is "Logan Lucky", coming in very close is "I,Tonya" and the last two are "The Maze Runner" and "Maze Runner: The Death Cure". The best of the month goes to "The Shape of Water". Some mentions that did not made either of the two lists are "Mother!" and "Maze Runner: The Scorch

Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) Movie Review

Imagine
Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) Review Well, what can I say about the third and final entry of the "Maze Runner" franchise? For the ones that who are not fans of the first two and even the books, this movie will feel very bloated, long and boring. For the fans, however, this movie offers an emotional closure of the story and its characters, completing the arc for every each one. What can I tell you is that is better than the second one and almost as good as the first. It's still action packed, the most action packed in the series, it starts fast and continues that way until the end, with some slow scenes along the way. The movie is still to long for what it is but, at least, we have more action to keep us invested. Performances are off the charts great in this one because it has an emotional feel, more like the others did. For me, as a fan of the series and the books, it was a good and rewarding ending of the story. 7/10 OK guys, those are the reviews for toda

Maze Runner:The Scorch Trials (2015) Movie Review

Imagine
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! I know, the reviews for the last two "Maze Runner" movies are a bit late but I was a bit over busy these days that I did not have time to do the reviews but here they are. So, the second entry in the "Maze Runner" franchise is not as good as the first but not in the action department. The movie is full of action packed scenes and great special effects plus some very impressive and incredible cinematography and some great landscapes. On the story front it does suffer because it doesn't have the shroud of mystery and suspense that the first one had. Plus, it's way longer that it needs to be, resulting in some unnecessary scenes that are only there to pad the run time. Performances are still great, with some new comers elevating the already great cast. For a sequel, it does have some good bits but as a hole it's beneath the original. 6/10
