It Comes At Night (2017) Review


Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Today I'm talking about a movie that is both confusing and excellent at the same time. First of all, this movie received excellent reviews from critics but it split the audiences right in the middle. There are some people that enjoyed this movie and there are other people that really did not. Let me explain why you can like or dislike this movie. On one hand, you can enjoy and appreciate the tense atmosphere, the building suspense, the great and eerie soundtrack, the great performances, the interesting mystery, which remains a mystery and the whole horror feel of the movie. On the other hand, some people may not appreciate the slow pace, the lack of action and horror elements, the main plot and mystery, that is never answered plus the lack of character development and exposition. Throughout the movie, you constantly try to understand how this whole thing started but, unfortunately, it's never explained. And the main negative is that the whole movie is misleading, starting with the trailers, that promised a different kind of movie, like a horror thriller but the end result was more of a psychological thriller and ending with the title. This is the main problem with this movie. Or maybe, this was the brilliance of the movie, to make you think that it was something other that it was advertised. Look, I particularly, found myself intrigued by this movie. It's smart, clever, uses it's sinister atmosphere very well, plus the whole mystery is, from my opinion, better if you do not know what it is and it does not rely on cheap jump scares or other horror cliches. It reminded me a bit of "The Witch". Overall, I will not condemned the people who disliked this. I can totally understand but it's something with this movie that makes it interesting, although being misleading. 8.2/10

In the Mood for Love(O iubire imposibilă-2000)-Regia:Kar Wai Wong Comentariu:Filmul “In the Mood for Love” regizat de către Kar Wai Wong este un film frumos şi mai ales poetic. Ȋn ceea ce priveşte acţiunea nu este foarte ofertant, dar compensează în domeniul stărilor şi emoţiilor pe care acest film vrea să le suprindă. Filmul prezintă o anumită lentoare şi repetitivitate a scenelor, de la mişcările personajelor la curgerea timpului. Este o dramă neaşteptată, plină de-o emoţie şi-o culoare deosebită, iar puterea filmului vine din tensiunea acumulată pe parcurs stingându-se în scorbura unui copac, unde bărbatul îşi lasă toate amintirile. Cele două personaje nu au măsura timpului iar iubirea lor îi menţine într-o stare atemporală, vraja neputând fi ruptă decât prin prefacere sau negare, aceste lucruri ducând la o despărţire totală. Ȋn concluzie filmul merită văzut dar e nevoie de-o răbdare şi-o sensibilitate enormă pentru a te adapta acelui ritm şi a trece dincolo de coaja lucrur

Remembering Carrie Fisher (1956 - 2016)

Carrie Fisher Tribute Man, this year, 2016, continues to deliver us untimely deaths of celebrities and,  tuesday, we find out that Carrie Fisher has passed away. A very sad moment, especially for those who grow up with her and the Star Wars movies. Of course, her most memorable role was Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga but she was also a true activist, humanitarian and writer. This is just the worst and I can't believe she has left this world. It is a shocking news and I still can't believed it. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher, you will be missed.

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. On the contrary, it becomes more interesting. Love the cast, great cast and, of course, great performances
