Trainspotting (1996) Review
Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Reviews! Because tonight I will see the sequel to this movie and the review will be up, maybe tomorrow, I thought I should revisit the first one just to give you my thoughts about it. And, mainly, becomes I loved it the first and now, that I've watched it the second time, I enjoyed it even more. This movie shows you the horror of drug addiction and how it affects, not only your own life, but the others around you as well. It does it in such a manner that comes out funny, gritty, often times terrifying and, all of the times, visceral and real. The movie focuses only on a small group from Edinburgh but it works very well as an attention, I don't wanna say warning, to all of those people who are using and developed a drug infused addiction. It reminded me a bit of "A Clockwork Orange". Of course, these two movies are different but the main plot of these two movies are kinda similar. This one is not for people who are a bit sensitive and cannot stomach this portrayal of the effects of drug addiction. It's brutal, with excellent performances from all of the cast, creepy at times, the scene with the dead baby and the same baby crawling on the ceiling comes to mind plus, giving the subject at hand, it's very entertaining. I hope that the sequel manages to recapture, maybe not all but just a part of what made the first one such a good movie. 8.8/10
