Wonder Woman (2017) Review


Now this is what I'm talking about. DC and Warner Broth. had done it, finally. This is how a superhero origin story should look like. They did one hell of a job with this movie, man. First of all, the movie is, mainly, addressed to women, not only because of the lead female character and female director but also, the implications and situations that the female lead character confronts in this movie. The action is amazing, the battle from "no man's land" and from the village plus the final battle and the end of the movie. Spectacular visual effects, great and good quality humor, finally in a DCEU movie, great performances, mainly Gal Gadot and Chris Pine plus the chemistry between them is very good, very believable. And Gal Gadot, man. She didn't quite impressed me in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, plus her movies from last year was below average but in this one, she is excellent. Not only for the dramatic scenes but, more important, in the physical scenes. She does not need words in order to act, she can do that, better even, in the action sequences, because you need to have a great physique and boy, does she has it! It's clear that Patty Jenkins borrowed some details from the first "Superman" movie and also, oddly enough, "Captain America: The First Avenger" with the whole WWI timeline. Tow things I did not like, very little stuff, is that, sometimes, the CGI Wonder Woman does not blend well with real live one. There are some fight sequences that kinda don't work with this mix. Plus, the villain is generic, at best. It kinda pulls a "Iron Man 3" move, when they tell you that this is the villain and, in the end, it turns out that the villain is somebody else. And it was disappointing, the reveal, because I saw it coming. Apart from that, job well done with this one and I hope the next movies in the DCEU are going to be as good or even better than this one. We shall see with the "Justice League". Awesome, excellent musical score and a great movie!! 8.5/10

So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. Mission Impossible 3 (2006) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this is what I am talking about, if you want to make a great action movie but still keep the style and panache of the original. J.J. Abrams did it. He combined, successfully I might add, the stunts and special effects with the style that made the first MI so good. It does suffer in some departments, especially the script and character development but that is just nitpicking at this point. The visual effects are awesome, the action is great and fast paced giving you the right amount of time to breathe before it chuckles you again into the action. The acting is top notch with a very good villainy performance from P.S. Hoffman.
