Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009) Review


This adaptation of the classic tale gets a dark and grizzly twist from the same Robert Zemeckis but, this time, starring Jim Carrey alongside Colin Firth and Gary Oldman. The visuals are, once again, dazzling but, unfortunately, this takes out the pleasure of enjoying the excellent voice performances. The 3-D also ads a touch of reality in an unreal movie with an animation that would scare a 3 year old. On the plus side, Zemeckis crafts an unique take on the classical tale, with some great visuals, an emotional story and a superb soundtrack with the excellent "God Bless Us Everyone" performed by Andrea Bocelli. The movie is weird and terrifying but it has a good story and good performances. Worth seeing on every Christmas but I would recommend the Patrick Stewart version. 7.1/10

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. On the contrary, it becomes more interesting. Love the cast, great cast and, of course, great performances ...

Mission Impossible 3 (2006) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this is what I am talking about, if you want to make a great action movie but still keep the style and panache of the original. J.J. Abrams did it. He combined, successfully I might add, the stunts and special effects with the style that made the first MI so good. It does suffer in some departments, especially the script and character development but that is just nitpicking at this point. The visual effects are awesome, the action is great and fast paced giving you the right amount of time to breathe before it chuckles you again into the action. The acting is top notch with a very good villainy performance from P.S. Hoffman.
