Holiday Message

Hi guys! No reviews today because it's Christmas Eve and I've got a lot to do and prepare. So I thought I would give my holiday message instead. I wish you all to have a marvelous, joyful and happy Christmas with loved ones, family and friends and to be more giving in these special days. I will return with some reviews possibly the beginning of next week. Until then have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!

Mission Impossible 3 (2006) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! Well, this is what I am talking about, if you want to make a great action movie but still keep the style and panache of the original. J.J. Abrams did it. He combined, successfully I might add, the stunts and special effects with the style that made the first MI so good. It does suffer in some departments, especially the script and character development but that is just nitpicking at this point. The visual effects are awesome, the action is great and fast paced giving you the right amount of time to breathe before it chuckles you again into the action. The acting is top notch with a very good villainy performance from P.S. Hoffman. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban(2004) Review This third outing of the Potter series is much darker and grittier than the first two and this is going to be the direction in which future Potter movies will go and it is a recipe for success. With a new director at the helm, Alfonso Cuaron, this movie amps up the style and the story. Most of the childish innocence from the first two movies is almost gone in this one which compensates with more teen angst, jokes, fear and action. We are introduced to new characters like professor Lupin, Sirius Black  and new creatures like the friendly but deadly Buckbeak and the frighting dementors, which are nicely created. It gives you a more mature feeling and prepares you for the upcoming surprises of the follow up movies. And come on, who doesn't like time travel? It does have some plot holes, here and there, but giving that is a more complex plot I can give them a pas. The combination between murder, lies and alternate time lines ...

Creed 2 (2018) Movie Review

Creed 2 (2018) Review So, the third and final review is for the eight movie in the Rocky franchise and the second one in the Creed franchise. I loved the first movie which was a similar story with the first Rocky  just like J.J Abrams did with Force Awakens. This one is Rocky IV all over again but it's still packs a punch. Staying true to the formula, the movie offers little in terms of surprises but the way it was shot, the fight choreography and the emotional punch make this movie on kinda the same level as the first one. Although we have seen this movie before, the heart of the story and the stakes that are considerably higher than in the last one, Creed 2 feels more than a Rocky sequel. It has some nostalgia of course, so many scenes that are mirroring scenes from Rocky IV but, despite all that, the familiarity and used up formula, the movie works.
