The Blair Witch Project (1999) Review
This movie started the whole found footage style that is very popular today. The movie is tense, scary, keeps you on the edge of your seat and is not relying on cheep jump scares or gore. It keeps it's villain in the shadows, which is a great move, letting you use your own imagination, which can be as scary or scarier than the witch itself. The movie starts off on a very joyful and positive vibe, leading to a situation of terror, agony and despair which ends in an abrupt and shocking way, which bothered me a bit. The tensions between the three characters is palpable and it amps up the whole story. The way is shot is good, a bit of shaky cam in some parts. Overall, the movie has become cult classic and you can see why. 9/10
