Iron Man 3 (2013) Review


Hello guys and welcome back to movie reviews! Today I'm reviewing a movie that is, in my opinion, part Marvel movie, part Shane Black movie. The director, known for his dark humor that appears in his movie, it's used in this one as well. The movie works very well as a Shane Black picture but not as a Marvel movie. The surprise twist split audiences thru the middle: is it good or is it bad? For me, it was a bit of a unpleasant surprise because I've waited for the Mandarin to appear on screen for a long time. And I was not happy when the character turn out to be fake. Maybe some people like it but not me. Leaving that aside, the charisma of Downey Jr., who worked with Shane Black on "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", is excellent, the action is great, very well done. Plus, in this one, we get a more vulnerable and exposed Tony Stark. Without the suits, he must rely on his intelligence and engineering knowledge. We get a more humanizing Tony Stark, which was a great idea. And man, Ben Kingsley did an awesome job on selling me the Mandarin. Damn it! So, apart from the unpleasant twist, the movie is entertaining, witty, filled with impressive action and dark humor. Better than the second movie, that's for sure. 8.2/10

In the Mood for Love(O iubire imposibilă-2000)-Regia:Kar Wai Wong Comentariu:Filmul “In the Mood for Love” regizat de către Kar Wai Wong este un film frumos şi mai ales poetic. Ȋn ceea ce priveşte acţiunea nu este foarte ofertant, dar compensează în domeniul stărilor şi emoţiilor pe care acest film vrea să le suprindă. Filmul prezintă o anumită lentoare şi repetitivitate a scenelor, de la mişcările personajelor la curgerea timpului. Este o dramă neaşteptată, plină de-o emoţie şi-o culoare deosebită, iar puterea filmului vine din tensiunea acumulată pe parcurs stingându-se în scorbura unui copac, unde bărbatul îşi lasă toate amintirile. Cele două personaje nu au măsura timpului iar iubirea lor îi menţine într-o stare atemporală, vraja neputând fi ruptă decât prin prefacere sau negare, aceste lucruri ducând la o despărţire totală. Ȋn concluzie filmul merită văzut dar e nevoie de-o răbdare şi-o sensibilitate enormă pentru a te adapta acelui ritm şi a trece dincolo de coaja lucrur

Remembering Carrie Fisher (1956 - 2016)

Carrie Fisher Tribute Man, this year, 2016, continues to deliver us untimely deaths of celebrities and,  tuesday, we find out that Carrie Fisher has passed away. A very sad moment, especially for those who grow up with her and the Star Wars movies. Of course, her most memorable role was Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga but she was also a true activist, humanitarian and writer. This is just the worst and I can't believe she has left this world. It is a shocking news and I still can't believed it. R.I.P. Carrie Fisher, you will be missed.

Wind River (2017) Review Hello guys and welcome back to Movie Talks with Tudor! For today, I have prepared three new reviews for three movies, one was good and the other two not so much. So let's start with the good one and I mean this one, of course. If you have seen "Sicario" and "Hell or High Water" and you enjoy watching those movies you will certainly enjoy this one as well. And it is based on real events so it has that reality based element, which is going to make you appreciate this movie even more. It's smartly written, beautifully executed, with the environment playing a big part in inducing the viewer into the chilling atmosphere of the story. It's dramatic, filled with emotions, suspense and thrills and it will keep you invested from beginning to end. It has a fast pace and, although it has it slower moments, it does not get boring. On the contrary, it becomes more interesting. Love the cast, great cast and, of course, great performances
